PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Masierton, December 5, At the Magistrate's Court this morning Mr James, S M., gave judgment in a wise in which Hugh and John Campbell were charged with fishing for trout without a license. Defendants admitted facts, but contended tbey had a right to fish without a license in a river on their own property, or on the property the owner of which gave them permission. Mr James said it was absurd to seek to establish a claim that riparian proprietors have a right to take and grant to others the privilege of taking nonindigious fish with which the Government or an Acclimatisation Society has stocked this river in the public interest, and with whose introduction or propaga*ian he his had absolutely nothing to do. He fined each defendants 10s, making the fine substantial to giv« them an opportunity of appealing if they desired,
