Bank of New Zealand shares have seen good inquiry at L2 5s with sales at that figure and unsupplied demand, holders now asking L2 7s 6d. National Banks have also advanced in p'ice. Insurance shares are in fair demand; New Zealand Accident have, however; receded slightly from top rates. ! Woollen shiies continue very duU. The Mosgiel Company has just held its meeting, and has reduced the dividend to 6 per cent., tbe low price of wool necessitating a lower valuation of stocks. Waihi shares continue in demand, the last crushing showing not only an increased totil value, but a considerable increase in value per ton crushed.

The Dunedfn dredging market has, without doubt, tou'hed bottom, sales for the last week bsing much mon numerous, and in irany cases showing a mat'rial advance. Tbe failirg riv«r, which is unusual at this time, favouring an improvement, a number of dredges have been able to resume worV.

The returns from the West Coast are very gratifying, the Paciolus in particular (as we anticipated), getting a record retuin of 107ozs, and shares have seen a smart rise Of 10s, with probable further rise.
