Fob the annual meeting of the above' club at Sentry Hill the weather was as nearly perfect as possible, and the recent rain had not only laid the dust, but made herbage and foliage have a most refreshed appearance. It is an ideal racecourse, though at present most of the arrangements are of a primitive character; but time and money will alter things for the better, especially as the executive of the club are full of energy and administrative ability. The large attendance this year, especially in the enclosure, should have a very beneficial effect on the club's funds, There was A very considerable contingent of Maoris, who followed the various events with keen interest, and the pleasure of the meeting was greatly enhanced by the excellent selection of music performed by the Waitara Band, which was reinforced by several members of the Garrison Band.
