AGRICULTURAL SHOWS.
WANGAIftjI. FEB rBESS ASSOCIATION Wanoandi, November 20. The Wanganui Agricultuial Association's annual show opened to-day. Considering it was not a half-holiday, i and that it was the first day of the' show, there was a very large attendance. The entries were nearly double tbo3e received last year, totalling over 2500. There was a splendid show of Lincolns, and a marked increase in Eoglish Leicesterg, The principal prize winners in Lincolns were Messrs W. Wilson, J. Wilkie and Donald Grant. In Romneys Mr J. W. Batchelcr was most successful; in Down?, Mr S. K. Lancaster, and in Leicesters Messrs Fernie Brothers, Fantham, and Donald Grant. In pigs Mr John Jar vis was the moat successful competitor. In horses only a portion of the thoroughbreds, coaching, and miscellaneous classes were judged. In the leaping competition three spills ocourred, one of those injured being removed to the hospital. To-morrow will be the most important day.
