INGLEWOOD NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The S.M. duly arrived on Wednesday morning to hold the usual monthly sitting of the Court. Owing to some new alteration in the Old Age Pensions Act, the cases for hearing under that Act were adjourned for a month. Constable Beattie, from Waitara, acted as Clerk of Court, in the absence of Constable Davy, who, I am sorry to say, is very .unwell, A final meeting of those in favour of starling an electric lighting company will be beld this (Thursday) evening, when a decision will be come to as to whether a company is to be formed or not. A report of tha meeting will bo sent to-morrow. Great sympathy is felt for Mrs Patterson in her sad bereavement, owing to the los 3 of her eldest son, Nathaniel Patterson, who, Wednesday morning's Daily informs us, died in South Africa of enteric fever. The deceased lived for a great number of years in this vicinity, following the occupation of I'nrmiDg. Just before he left for South Africa he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in the Inglewood Rifles.
