Sir, —As there seems to be a difference of opinion as regards the success of the proposed Friendly Societies picDic at Sentry Hill on New Year's Day owing to the probability of the Citizens' picnic bsing held at the Breakwater on the same day, I understand there will, in all probability, be a joint conference of the committses to discuss the mp.tter, when it is to be hoped that the whole thing will be amicably settled.—l am, etc., J.
