had been appointed second year pupil teacber at the Central School, and Miss L. Stewart first year pupil teacber. Mrs Dowling (West Infants' School) reported that the average attendance for the month had been 140, out of a roll number of 150. Tbe shelter shed had been completed. In connection with levies for stationery, it was resolved to (authorise Mrs Dowling to discontinue their collection if she considers it advisable. It was resolved to get estimates for forming, gravelling, and tarring footpaths at the Went Infants' School. The Headmaster of tbe Central School reported that the average at-1 tendance for the month bad been 530,! tbe roll number being 600. I Same discussion took place on the ] subject of an exchange of teachers, and the matter was deferred. i It was resolved to erect a swing at the Central School, and the chairman was authorised to have a flagstaff placed on the tower. It was resolved to take steps to have a shelter-shed erected at the Courtenay street school, and a committee was appointed to deal with the matter. The completion of asphalting the front yard at the Central School during the vacation was authorised, Arrangements being left in the chairman's ban-Is.
