A CORRECTION.

TO THE EDITOB. Sib, —In your report of my address, I am made to say in connection with the cash deposits in the Banks that our actual coin was only 4£ millions. What I said was that, all the money—notes and coined money mounted to 4| millions. Again that "during the past seven years 14 millions had been paid in interest on the public debt." I This is incorrect, as I said that during | the last 26 years 40 millions in icier-' jest had bdenpaid on the public deb». With respect to the North Island Main Trunk Eaitway loao, I said that the loan was raised in 1888, and by 1899 £420,000 interest had beea paid. I With regard to Treasury bills I am to say that £230,000 had been ! issued, whereas I stated that between 1895 and 1901 £234,485 in interest on Treasury bills had been paid.
