There wis a very good attendance during the afternoon and evening, and the s lie proved successful throughout. His Worship the.Mayor (Mr E. Dockril!) opened th? proceedings at 3 o'clock, and in doing so paid a high compliment to the work of the Sunday School, and referred to ita power for good on the-community. The hall presented an animated appearance, with the various stalls ranged along the sides, and these were very generally admired, and attracted con;, siderable.custom. The stalls represen* ted the four seasons of the year, aad their artistic decorations were all arranged to produce this effect, and reflected the greatest credid on the ladies in charge. The work was principally carried out by the Sunday scholars and teachers, with assistance rendere i by members of the congregation. The ladies in charge of the various stalls were as follows: "Spring" (piniforei and aprons) .Misses Ros«, Arnold, and Hfldt; "Summer" (plain good-) Misses White (2) and Olover; " Autumn" (fanoy goods)— Misses Ohacterton and Uatran; "Winter" (refresh men's) - Misses Collis (2), Ramson, and Ainsworth. Christmas tree —Misses Cancell (2) and Avann; afternoon tea and supper—Misses Yeale, Ohatterton and Mrs. Sbarpe. A miscellaneous stall was run by seyaral of the boys of the senior glasses, and did a thriving busi-

' neeg, 1- ~-,/t feature of the whole gathering was the general good fseling which prevailed, and the willingness displayed on all hands to assist in carrying through such a deserving cause to well-merited | success.
