CROWN LAND SALE.
LrrHoaßiPHio plans are to hand from the Commissioner of Grown Lan<}a(Hr, Strsuchon) giving particulars of Jaad open for sale on Wednesday, the 18th December. Written tenders will be received at the Land Office for 6,101 acres of second-class land in the Upper Waitara B.D. This land is in the Clifton Oounty, and is divided in five sections ef from 1220 acres to 1526 acres, and from its description is ad* mirably adapted for grazing ptirpom. It is broken country of papa formation, covered with bush, consisting of rata, rimu, and tawa, a sure sign of goad quality. The ridges are stated to ma from 500 to 600 feet in height, AeoeM to the sections is by the or Uriti-roads, though the Okoke-road may also be used. The nearest portion f>f block is about 16 mile* front Urenui. Four of tie sections front on the Waitara river, and we are informed there are some nice river flats in the | bends of the stream. A small section of Beven acres will also be open for I tender at the same time, situated on itbe Rotokareroid, in the Naaire S.D. * On Wednesday next, November 20th., the few remaining sections unsold in the town of Stratford will be sold. There are only 13 sectiocs, and as the upset pricas are low, £5 to £lO, they should readily find purchasers. The land Board hold a special meeting in Hawera on Thursday, 2Ut inst.,. to examine applicants for the Tokaora. set'lement (Mr Livingston's late farm), for whioh applications close on the 20th November, we understand numerous enquiries have been rrc ii-ed, and the fertile character of the land is so well known that there is every likelihood of keen jompe'i'ion. The homestead alooe, we are informed, is capable of bringing in over £2OO a year, while all the land is productive from the Mart without any outlay on the pirS of the oompiar; The est»t», which consists of 14Mt acres has been divide! ioto fourteen sections, from 50 to 100 acres in extent,' The lani is all in grass, and has beea so divided that many of the fenoaa, come in for boundary fenoes.
