JUBILEE CONFERENCE. PBB PRBSB ASSOCIATION. Nelson, November 11. The jubilee conference of the Baptist Union was opened today, a record number of delegates being present. The President, R*v. A. OJlins, congratulated Nelson Church and the whole denomination oa the attainment of its jubilee. Mewages of congratulation were received from the Baptist Union of Great Britatn and the Australian colonies. Rsv. J. G. Greenhough, President of the National Ires Church Council of Gre»t Britain, was associated with the conference. Rev*. Wainwrighr, Benoett, Signd, and Shirer weie admitted to ministerial membership. The report read by Rev. W. Woolley, secretary showed good progress in membership, the gross in* crease being 354 and the net increase 108. It contained congratulatory refranco to the recent Presbyterian Union, showed that Home Mission work has been energetically and successfully prosecuted ip the North, and the local preachers' scheme was reported as fairly established. The report was unanimously adopted. A deputation representing sister churches, consisting of Rev, J. 8. Soulley and W. T. ilnpham, was received. The delegates conveyed their warm congratulations on the jubilee. The balance sheet showed a defioit of 4104. The report of the Young People's Committee was presented, and after lengthy end profitable debate unanimously adopted. The Rev. Graenhough lectured on "Our Puritan and Protestant Forefathers" tonight at the Sehoe) of Music before a large and enihusiastia audience.
