PRIZE AWARDS. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION, Chbistohuech, November 4. For the second day of the Canterbury A. and P. A'sociatiou's Show the , weather wjs fine till lata in the afternoon, when a thunderstorm, with heavy showers, ses in. The principal classes were judged to-day, but the light harness horses will be adjudicated upon to-morrow. Mr D, D. McFulane won his own scouring priza for merino ram, and in fne combing rams Mr Frank H. Smith was the medallist. In young rams Sir George Clifford and Mr Frank H. Smith were the first priz-i-takers, and the executors of the late C, Eosor, with Mr Frank H. Smith shared first honours, repeating the same in ewes. In strong combing merinos Mr D. D, McFarlane showed champion ram, wi'.h Mr Frank H. Smi'h second, and in young ram.9 MefS'S Walter McFarlane and A . W. Rutherford were prominent. Mr A. W. Rutherford was champion in ewes above 16 mouths, and first in ewes under that ag\ In English 1 Leicester rams Messrs A, an i J. Raid won champion honours; Donald Grant Bcortd ch'.mpioo. In ewes, the champion Lincoln ram was shown by the New Z-aland and Agricultural Land Comptny, and the champion ewe by Mr James S Holmes. The chief prisetakers in Shropshire rams and ewes were Mr Rupert Parry and Sir George Clifford. Hampshires were unrepresented.

In cattle, Mr Arthur Chamberlain's Duke of Rothesay Shorthorn bull was champion, and he also showed the champion cow, scoring all along the line in heifers. In the closes for small farmers, Messrs Henry Hight, G. E. Benney, and John Nixon were promineot in Shorthorn Bulls, with Messrs Thomas Brook?, James Johns, and John Nixon in younger sires. Messrs Nixon, Hight, and Johns repeated honours in cows and heifers, and Mr Arthur Chamberlain scored honours in a special class for Shorthorn milch cows. The red-polled cattle were all shown by Mr R. H. Rhodes, and , the SunnysWe Asylum won champion honours in Ayrshire*?. In draught; hors6s Mr A. G. Holmes' Young Champion gained honours in aged sires, and Mr James Little's Better Days was first in thr.'e-year-: old*, and Mr Joha Shearer's Bull Cray in two-year-olds. Mr Thomas Taylor Watertoa won champion honours with his mare Dawn, and led again in fillies, Mr John Small scoring in yearlings. Mr Taylor's pa ; r of mares gained first honours, and in mares generally he was prominent. The Christchurch Meat Company gained the silver medal for manures, etc.
