Carlyle observed that he had been " accustomed to this kind of thing, that he bad got works printed at Edinburgh," &c. &c. " Yes, indeed, sir." interrupted the piinte:, "*• are aware of that. We have a man here from Edinburgh, and when he took up a bit of your ' copy' he dropped it as if it had burned his fingers, and cried out, *' Lord, have mercy on us 1 Have you got that terrible man to print for ?
