About the far side Rockleigh had a six lengths lead, but soon died away, when Flagship and Khaki rushed to the front and led Wakefu', Hyraettus, Gauleon, Seaport, Revenue, George Frederick, Acetine, Grasspan, and Australian Colours. After pass'ng the abattoirs Khaki took charge, withl i Revenue handy and Wakeful and San Fran two lengths away. As they swept into the straight Khaki was on the inside, Revenue on the outside, and San Fran in the centre, the trio being ! well together. At the distance the racß narrowed to a struggle between Revenue and San Fran, of which the former had all the best, and was landed a winner by half a length, a leDgth and a half separating second and third.
