ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

FIB PRESS ASSOCIATION, Rbifton. October 31. A determined suicide occurred here this morning at 5 o'clock. A youth named W. Haube, employed in Cook and Dawson's hotel, shot himself through the head while leaning over a ■baft on the hill behind his residence. Here is no due as to the motive. Ho left a note stating bis intention to kill himself, and under what circumstances. The body was found in the shaft, as indicated in the note. The police received information last evening that a two-year old child of Mr Fayers, a settler at Tarata, was drowned at that place yesterday afternoon. No further particulars were to band. Mr Stanford, S.M., Coroner, will hold an inquest at Tarata to day.
