RESOLUTIONS BY ANQLIOAN SYNOD.

I Drajmur, October 80. ■ The following resolution was PUMd |at tbe Anglican Synod +/w»igk» • That in the opinion of this Synod tha I retail traffic in alcoholic liquors as at I present canduoted, is in many respects unsatisfactory : (2) that the total prohibition of alcoholic liquors in tb* colony is irratonial and likely to ww more harm than good; 3 (a) that tb» time has arrived when those who am interested in temperance reform on moderate lines should have a common platform upon whioh to combine, and (h) that the transfer of all profit from the retailer to the State or -munioi* pality seems to betthe best method yet suggested for accomplishing such reform ; (4) that a league, with the object of eduottiog publio opinion in the direction of reform on tbe abov* lines, be formed with branches in elk parts of the colony.
