With the slight modification of having only one panol instead of two, i the Queen Victoria Memorial Statue Committee has accepted the design of Mr Hampton, of England. Tbe statue will have a height of Bft. 6in., on a ; pedestal 9ft. 6<n. The statue will be l of marble, with an Aberdeea granite I pedestal. The figures and panel will be of bronze, the subject of tbe panel being the arrival ot the first settleis in Otago.
