Mr. Sfddon has received the following cablegram from Colonel Porter, commanding the Seventh New Zealand Cootingent: <: Sendt' is by n. convoy. We are campaigning away from the posts. The enemy, 2000 strong, were defeated at all points. The New Zealanders charged and cap'ured the first portion of an important hill on the enemy's right flank, and held it under exceedingly heavy fire, concentrated from the front and flanks.
