THEATRE ROYAL.
E » MULDOON PICNIC OOMPANY. s g At the Theatre Royal on Monday 1 evening Mr Frank M. Clark opsned a t season of two nights with his musical comedy of " Muldoon's Picnic." There s was a very good attendance, and from e first to last hearty laughter prevailed. Practically there is no plot, but merely « a succession of humourous incidents, y divided into two acts, the firs'being in o Muldoon's home, and the last at thn picnic grounds. Mr Ohrk is simply f irresistible as " Michael Muldoon," a '■_ part that exactly suits his natural laughter-raising abilities. He was ably backed up by all the other members of 7 the company, each of whom has a e special faculty for amusing an audience. b There were some capital songs, amongst * which may be mentioned, "I don't know why I love you, but I do," sung * by Miss Davereux with great 'succes*; ,_ aud "Oh ! tbo6e twins," sung by Miss t Danvers; both these ladies ic' their - acting and singing securing much applause. Part of the entertainment '■ consisted of some very clever acrobatic j 1 feats. In thip. part of the performance g " Rexo," the king of the rolling ball, r showed great skill in balancing and i- juggling, and earned tremendous ap- '• plause ; while Freddy Gurnet, the mar J vellously flexible "dummy," parformed l a some astonishing and laughable turns, much to the delight and:appreciation nof those preseut. " Weary Willie," t from Paribaka, was a decided success, and caused immense fun; nor must '" mention of the renowned " Jerry the Thoroughbred" be omitted. It was just one of those light entertainments n which are so popular, because of the a tonic provided by the constant merriy ment that permeates the whole psr- '* formance. TO-NIGHT n will be the last of the seisoD, and in 8 addition to several other attractive novelties " Rexo " will perform one of ' ti Oioquevalli's most dextero&s and dar ,3 ing feats. Every patron of the front b seats will be presented with a copy of Mr Clark's souvenir song books.
