SACRED CONCERTS.
TO THE BDITOB. Sir. —ln answer to Mr Fookes' letter re the above, I am afraid he has not quite grasped tbe meaning of my letter. What I meant by my letter was that a bind ought not to advertise a sacred concert arid play a secular one. Of courpe, evary one (musical) kcows that to perform sacred music in a band is a difficult thing, and perhaps this is tbe causa of the so called sacred programme recently played. It is time these supposed sacred concerts were taken notice of, and instead of the light flimsy programme performed, let us have some of the grand sacred Oratorios, or Masses, which would be worth listening to if properly done.—l am, etc., Honest?,
