ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

PIS PBESS ASSOCIATION. Cobomakdel October 17. Le irard Roberta, shift boss at the Boyal Oak mine, fell down a pass and died from the injuries received. MAsrs&TON, October 17. A man named Edward Lawrence fell off a waggon, and the wheels pawed over him, breaking seven r'bs and inflicting internal injuries, from which he died this morning. Dunedin, October 17. A six-year-old child, William Grounds, whore parents reside near the Fort Chalmers line, was killed at the Hanover-street cro'sing this morning. The child was playing with others on the line. The driver of the train from the Port noticed the little fellow, hut was unable to pu'l up. Thi engini and four carriages pugged ovr the body, wh'ch was cut in two. No one appears to have been in charge of the children. Auckland, Oatolw 17. An accident occurred recen'ly at Hukerenui to a two-year-ol<f daughter of Mr Lindsay. The girl was evidently playing wi'h a box of matches, which caught fire, an.? set the child's clothing on fire..
