BOYS' INSTITUTE CONCERT.

In spile o thhoavy downpour on Monday evenin: th» e w-s a at the concert in aid o' thi funds of the Boys' Institute, hilil in (lie club-room. An enjoyable programme nag contributed, and was met with high appreciation of those present. Rev. F. O. Evans, president of the committee, took the chair, and during bis temporary absence was relieved by Mr Hughes. The programme was as follows:—Pianoforte selection, Mrs Hushes; song and chorus, Mr B. B. Cartwrighs; recitation, Master Tippins; concertina solo, Mr Wilson; vaulting horse display, by the boys trained by Mr Wilson; pianoforte duet, Misses Clarke and Emery; chorus, Te Henui choir boys; trio, Misses Joseph, Lovell and Cock; display on horizontal bar; song and chorus, Rev. F. G. Evans; recitation, Master Olarke; display on springboard. The Chairman announced the receipt of a donation of £1 Is from Messrs Ambniy Brothers, also a receiptei account for goods from that firm. The announcement was received with hearty cheers by the boys. He also intimated the intention to hold a tea at an early date, and that similar entertainments would be held on each Monday evening during this month. The proceedings terminated by the singing of the National Anthem.
