COLLISION NEAR LYTTELTON.

SOHOONER BADLY DAMAGED. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, October 10. A collision occurred about half-pist 'en o'clock last night between the Tyser =teamer lodiad; vi and the schooner Lily, and resulted .in considerable •lamage to the latter v< ssel. The accident happened about twenly miles to northward of Lyttelton Heads, the steamship being at the time on her wa) to this port from Wanganui, while the schooner was bound from Lyttelton to Grsymouth. The bowsprit of the Lily was smashed, and her stern was badly' splintered by the collision, but the staamsr was uninjured. Captain Trot•er, of the Indradevi, picked up the injured vessel and towed her into port, arriving at a quarter fa-it seven o'clock tbis morning.
