OBITUARY.
On Saturday morning an old and respected townsman suddenly pissed away in the person of Mr. G. M. Braseh, who for many years has been in busin's* in Devon-street, near the railway crossing The deceased, who was 71 years of age, was born at Posen, in Prussian Poland, and at the age of 14 or 15 emigrate i with his sister (who subsequently became Mrs. Zalinski, the mother cf Major Zalinski, inventor of tho dynamite gun) to.the, United States. From there he went to Melbourne where, for many years, he was engaged in business with his brother. In 1876 h i came to New Zealand and settled in Otago, but three years later he finally j took up his residence in New Ply- j mouth where he was engaged in business up to within a few days of his i death, which occurred after a short but i sharp attack of the prevailing fpi lmic. For some time he managed Mtssrp. iHallens ein Brothers branch establishi meat here, but in 1882 he pu'chase! | Miss Retford's business. The deceased leaves four eons, Mr. E, A. B asch, C utis', Mr. If. Brascb, a solicitor »t Dunedin, another s>n residing a* | Sydney, the youngest baiog io En«I land. The reimir s will be t ikec tonight to Auckland for interment.
