, DEPUTATION TO THE MINISTER, j [PEH PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] ! Welusqton, October 4. As representing the New Zoiland Alliance and Good Templars, the Rev, F, W. Isitf, accunpanied by the Hon, G, Jones, interviewed the Minister for Education and presented petitions signed by 9000 persons, and addressed to the Governor, asking for introduction of scientific temperance instruction in Stafco schools. Mr Hogben (Under Secretary for Education) raised a point as to the inaccuracy of this instruction, and this I'd to s ime discussion. Finally the Minister promised that the petitions would be presented to His Excellency in due course, and that the department would consider the question raised by the deputation.
