Evidence was given that tbe prisoner, while in g-ol and in the presence of several witnesses', deliberately and unhesitatingly confessed tbat he had dogged tbe President for days, b -eking an opportunity to shoot him. He believes in to form of government, or marriage relations. Every head of a State was a tyr-mt, and ought to be killed, Misd Goldman's teachings bad influenced him, but he alone had fanned this deed, end he accepted the responsibility. Mr. Lewis, oue of the counsel for the defence, declared that the prisoner steadfastly refused 'o aid them, but was entMed to tbe betefifc of any doubt. If the jury were able to declare that Czolg sz was an irresponsible person it would lift a great kud from tbe public mind. Tbe jury returned a verdict of murder in the first degree, and the prisoner was remanded till Thursday for sentence. Received 26, 0.52 a.m. W»BHharoN, September 15. Miss Goldman has been discharged from custody.
