AH APPRECIATION BY LORD KOSKBERY. Received 22,5.4 p.m. London, September 21. In connection with the King Alfred the Great [Millenary, L'rd Rosebery in unveiling the statue at Winchester, described King Alfred as an ideal Englishman, a perfect sovereign, and the pioneer of England's greatness. Be gracefully mentioned the ancestry of the Americans, who across centuries in moments of stress and Eortow irresistibly join hands wi'h us. Lord Brastey, and a number of other prominent men identified with the colonies, attended the millenary.
