OBITUARY.
We regret to announce the death of another prominent settler, Mr. 0. K. Stock, who paesed away on Sunday after a lingering illness. The late Mr. Siock has for many years past been very active in pubFc matters, and w s well-known throughout the district, IHe was a member of the Taranaki Land Board, the Board of School Commissioner?, the Forest Reserve Board, beside? being a Justice of the Peace. The deceased prided himself upon his knowledge of the somewhat intricate lmd law* of the colony, and on matters of finanos. He took a great inierr t in co operative toe : e ies, and was untiring in probidg to the bottom any matter whioh be took in hand. It cannot be said that he was what is gederally.known as a popular man, as his modus operandi was not always based on popular lines, bub he did a vas 1 ; deal of public .. work, and was rever happ'er thail when so engaged. Tbe deceased was twice married, his second wife being Miss Litf?, sister to Mr. Little, of Sentry Hill.
