AUCKLAND LOAN PROPOSALS.
[ P KIR p ess association. i Auckland, September 11. The poll of ratepayers on proposals by the Clity Council to borrow £IOO,OOO for city improvement was taken today. Seven proposals were submitted, namely, fire brigade £12,C00, paving of streets £BOOO, ex'ens'on of water supply £25,000, abattoirs£sooo, refuse destructor £IO,OOO, town hall £26,000, [purchase of allotments £14,000. The i first five were carried by a large majority, but the town hall and purchase of allotments were defeated,
