Sucb ; letters should be handed to the master, J or to any officer be may uppuint to re- \ ceive tbem, at d should he prepaid at i . the following tales: —Id the half cance, i, if addressed to the United Kingdom I or to any British Oo'ony or Possession 1 (except the Commonwealth of Australia, " Bhcdtsia and the Bechuanalaad protectorate) ; 2ia the half-oance, if adr. dressed 10 a foreign canntry or to one 'I of the three British possessions men- '' tisned above. The otficersdealingwith r the letters should tie them in a bundle, I distinctly labeled, " Potted on board i> the British ship oh the high seas," *■ and on arrival at a foreign or colonial \ port tbii handle should sob te postc 1 ¥ in the ord'n-ry way, but should be j, handed over tb* counter of a post office, r if possible the bead office. Letters writted in foreign or colonial waters should be prepaid by means of local ;- stamps at local rates, and should be , I posted in the srdinary manner. i. '
