MEETING OF WOMEN TEACHERS. PHB PHKSS ASSOCIATIOK, Wellingtox, iseptembsr 10. A meetmg of wom f n echool teachers was bdd to-dny to considtr the proposed colonial fcile of salaries, and it wai resolved to form an association to improve the status of female teachers. Re olutious were passed approving of the introduction of a colonial scale; viewing with disapproval the allotment of all the highest positions to men; asserting that in the interests of education gi' is in the higher standards should be taught by women; and that in schools where the average attendance i exceeds 700 the schoo's should be jdividid into separate departments, viz, infants, girls, and boys, each under a 'responsiolehead.
