Arrangements are being made by the R&ilwav Department and the Man&watu Railway Company to considerably shorten the train jeurney between New Plymouth and Wellington, andintween Napier and Wellington. If arrangements can be made with the Union Company 24 hours will be saved in the time now occupied in the journey between Auckland and Danedin. There will also be a saving of several hours in the Napier-Dunedin jonrnty.
