Tbo Auckland members of the New Zealand rep. teim also came up by the mail train, and are staying at New Plymouth to-day to see the rna'ch against Hawke's Bay. The Hawke's Biy team arrived fr->m Wanganui by the m*il train la°t night. There is every indication of a pood day for the Taranaki-Hawke's B<iv fixture, »hicb takes plsce at 2.45 o'cWk this afternoon, in the Recreation Ground*. The re is some likelihood of one or two Taranaki men being unable to take their places owirg to rough treatment received in the recent match at Eltliam. The Stratford District High School football team, which had not been beaten this year, was but- down by 10 to 6 by a team from the New Plymouth High School on Saurday.
