ONB FARTHING HOMAGES. m PBJS9 ABBOOTATKW, Auckland, August 30. At the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Ooaolly allowed one farthing dnmiges without cists in a case in which Howard Jas. Thomas sued Tbos. Perham and his j»ife Grace Perham for libel. The \daim set fo-th that Grace Perham wrote to John Vail, in the Gov?rnmeot survey office, describing p'aintiS ■s a dangerous man, who repotted scandal, and was an untrustworthy official and fea»fu' liar when it suit 1 him. The letter was anonymous, and •A expert said it was Mrs Per Ham's handwriting. Mr. Perham appeared and said lie did not believe his wife wrote the letter. His Honour said the plaintiff bad not denied the allegation?, and he had not suffered any damage.
