MADAME BELLE COLE.

On Tuesday evening last the public of Hawer.x had an opportunity of hearing I Mad*ma Be\U Oo'e, and acorJtngto the Star " the concert was one the equal of which we may never: he>.r fagiin, and those who mi-sed heading i Madame Belle Cole have lost the chance of bearing one of the fe* really good singers who come this way." It is evident that this gifted artiste is I fully sustaining her high reputation, and that her rich contralto voice is , charming her audiences, noVonly by its grandeur, but ajso by its, wondeiful flexibility apd sweetness, In such songs as " The Lost Chord," " Douglas Gordon," " The Promise of Life," "Diddy." <kc, pathos and ex pression have full play, while the unerring taste disp'ayed seems to give the audiincea something to remember for manny a day, But Madame Cole is equally happy, in bright sprightly laughing melodies and she can delight her hearers with quaint humorons ditties SJch as the Sco'ch song " Wee Wifie." The enthusiasm of those present is roused to a high pitch at each soDg. Mr. Prause is stil climbing into higher favour than ever, and his rendering of " To-morrow Will be Friday'' is of itself a treat of a rare kind. It is to be hoped the weather will bs propitious this evening, as if so everything will be favourable to the enjoyment which so mary have looked forward to in hearing these singets of the first rank.
