NEW SEWING REGULATIONS.
The fallowing regulations for the conduct of the examination in needlework were passed by the Education Board on J Wedntsdty, and come into force on the Ut January, 1902: -(]) The sewing; ahull bo sen 6 to the Board's office not later than tha third Wednesday in tho month duriiig which the Inspector'.*, examination is held. (2) Individual pupil < will not bo marked "pass" or "fail" in sewing. (3) Immediately after the Inspector's examination cf the school the pupils shall be re-classi-fied for sewing in the manner indicated by the Standard Regulations, 16th Decern bar, 1899. (4) Trie label attached to a sewing specimen shall show the standard in which the pupil is classified for sewing, and not the standard in which she is taught pass-subjects. (5). When a pupii is placed for sewing in a class different from that in which she is placed for the pasg-subjec's, this must hi indicatsd on the sewing schedule in the column for remarks. (6). When any unfinished work is sent in, tbo reason must be fully stated, (7). Whi j n a pupil is not promoted, fresh garments and specimens must be prepared for the subsequent examinations. (8). Tue report of the Sewing 0 immittee will be forwarded as soon after the examination as possib'e, but the sowing will be kept in the Board's C'ffi.'e for one month, and any remarks a teicher m»y wish to make to the Sewing Committee must be made during that time, as otherwise they cinnot ba entertained. (9). He id teachers ars responsible for the carrying out of those instructions, and over t'je promotions in swing must exercise the same supervision as is exercised in the oth'.T class subjects.
