At the inquest touching the death of William Liwrie, the jury returned a verdict that deceased met his death accidentally by a fall of earth in a drain cutting in the Wes'port railway yard, and no blame was attachable to anyone. Woodville, August 27. The infant son of P. Kelly, Borough Racger, two years old, fell into a creek. The mo'htr jumped into tbe pool and when the neighbours reached the spot was under the water insensible. Some difficulty was experienced in getting her out and she was unconscious for twelve hoars All attempts to resuscitate the baby failed. Chbistchurch, August 27. James McNaughton, shepherd, St Albms, was found at half-past seven this morning in his bedroom with bis thro it cut. It is supposed he committed BU'cide.
