The grounds of the pet.if.ion are that, tbe poll was tiken the Re urnicip | Officer wrongfully opened p .r.el< of ballot papers and extracted the voting paper of Frederick Charles Saphir, of Tuylorville, commercial tr* veil r, and disallowed tbe vote, which had been cast, in favour of Mr. Heslop; t,ha< after the p>ll the Returning Offic •> took out the paper of Ar'hui- N*sb>'t. of Hunterwille, who had also voted for Mr. Heilop, and disallowed it; tha* the deputy returning officer at M*ki>ikiri closed the booth shorily after opening it, and it remaned cWri throughout, the day, aodthe Returning Officer failed to m>ke any return ; thatthe deputy at the Maogaonoho bouth closed it during the dinner hour and remained away for about an hour; th-it an elector named John Williamson, on the roll as John Williams, was not allowed to vo'e at Pukerirau; that both the'R votes would hava be n ea-t for Mr. Heslop.
