New York, August 16. A treat hurricane in the Gulf States of Amerir •. destroyed two levees (retaining walls on banks of the Mississippi) at New Orleins, and did much damage otherwise. The city was inundated, and fifteen persons drowned. The city of Mobile, on the Alabama River, is isolated. London, August 16.
