PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchugch, August 12. A man, Thomas Hobbs Lucas, was found dead in bed this morning with his throat cut, and a razor beside the bed. Lucas had been a hotel manager, but had been out of employment (or some nine momhs. He made an attempt on his life some yeirs ago, and was bound ovt r. A verdict of suicide while of UDseuod mind wag returned. WELLINGTON, August 12. An eighteen months' old daughter of Mr. McLelhn, manager for Lysaght and Co., while pl#ying in the conservatory, fell into a tub of water during the ab'etice of its mother and was drowned.
