Received 4,6.21 p.m. Melbourne, August 3. There was fine weather fer the Caulfit Id races. Betting On Grand National : 5 to 1 against Lowland Chief, 8 to 1 Repeater. Fifteen started. Half r. mile from home Billy Martin looked a winner, but failed to stay. Lowland Chief (Wheeler) and Repeater (Regan) led into the straight, and the former was ahead at the lest hurdle, but blundered, leaving Repeater an easy winner by two lengths. As the winner was badly beaten last Wednesday at Epsom this victory was received with mingled feelings. Time, 7min 2|sec.
