OUR RETURNED TROOPERS.

TO-DAYS DEMONSTRATION. I At the time of writing the weather I gives promise of being fine for the wel- : come demonstrations to day, j General arrangements are well forJ ward, the various committees having ! worked with a will during the past few , d»ys. Yesterday a numbxr of willing hands were busy in the Drill Hall, which has been very tastefully decorated with fljfis and greenery. At the northern end of the hall a dais h«s been erected, on which the visitors will take their places during the presentation ceremony in the eveuing. The ro.m usually devoted to supper is to be transformed ■ into a drawing room, and a strong committee of ladies was engaged in making necessity arrangements yesterday. Twe large marquees have been erected oa the western side of the hall, to serve as supper rooms, to which access will be gained by the large doors from the main hall. For this morning's demonstrations the programme and order of procession published in the News on Tuesday raoroing hold good, subjeot to any alterations which may be found neoeaeary at the last moment. The Garrison Band, Rifles, Guards and Cade's will parade at the Drill Ball at 10 15 a.m. sharp, and take up positions at the Railway Statien at 10.30. A guard of honour will be furnished, comprising 25 men from the Rifles and 25 from the Guards. All school children attending are requested to assemb'e at the Central School at 10 o'clock, and maroh to the Harbiur Botrd reserve, opposite the s ation, headed by the Fitzroy Drum and Fife Band, and they are requirtd to be in position by 10.45 a.m. Volunteers are notified that the uniform will be drill order, with leggings. We are. requested to scats thit if the weather threatens rain great-costs are to ba brought, and if not worn will be carried en bandertlle.
