RECEPTION OF RETURNED TROOPERS
PROGRAMME FOR THURSDAY. , The order of programme is not yet' definitely fixed, as it is not yet known whether the Stratford, Eitham, and Hawera Rifles will be present; but as there is a desire to make tbe reception | partake as much as possible of a provincial nature, it is hoped that thesa i companies will accept the invitation to j < e present. Subject to tbe positions to > be allotted to all or any of the above I corps, the procession will be as follows: Marshal. Mounted Police. Hawera Mounted Rifles, Escort. Egmont Mounted Rifles. FiritOarriage.—Lieutenant-Colonel Davibs, 0.8., ami Mits Davisb, His Wobship the Mayob and Mas Duckbill. Second Carriage.— Oaptain and MRS. Bautlett, Captain and Mas. Mops. Escort. Egmont Mounted Rifles. Band of the Taianaki Battalion. Returned Troopers. Taranaki Rifles. Taranaki Guards. Inglewood Rifles. Waitara Rifles. Oentral School Gddets. Rear Guard. I
Tbe Taranaki Bittilion, Band, and Cadets will parade at the Drill Hall at 10.15 a.m., and will take up their positions by 10.30 a.m. at the Railway Station. A guard of honour of 25 men from the TaraDaki Rifles, end 25 from the Taranaki Guards will parade at the dtatien, Rifles on the right, and Guards on the left. The Kiflea will furnish two officers, and the Gutrds one officer for tbe guard of honour. The Band will play while Lieuten-ant-Oolonel Davies, C.8., is inspecting the guard of honour. Order of dress: Drill order with leggings. All men of the Battalion must weir the colours of their respective companies on their caps. On returning from their march in the ea-.t tnd of the town, the Inglewood I and Waitara Rifles and Cadets will break off at the Bank of Few Zealand, and will be detailed to positions opposite the Criterion Ho'el, the remaining companies forming up ob ar> ivil. The Battalion Band will pi <y the first part of a slow march aft»r the general salute. Companies wi 1 then ba marched away, the headquarter companies to the Drill Hall, aod be dismissed for the day, but are to remain in uniform. All school children will assemble at the Central School at 10 a.m., and will be marched to the Harbour B.waV reclaimed ground, Egmont-street, headed by the Fizroy Dram and Fife Band, and be in position not later th<n 10.45 a.m. The Tewn Band will pi .y the National Anthem for the childien, who will eiog s3me. After the rear guard has passed Egmnnt-street, the children will be marched to Dsyon-street, and will line the roid on both sides from the Post Office to Egmont-stre t corner. AH the children are requested to j&rry flags. The Battalion Band will play at the Criterion Hotel during the reception held by Lieutenant-Colonel Divia, 0.8. The Battilion Band will phy in tbe Drill Hall at night under ord> rs from the Music Committee.
The Town Band will play daring the afternoon at the foo'.ball match.
