that, apsrs from Mr. 0. T. Mills' pipularity in other respects, he has enhanced his reputation by taking the first step towards becomieg a champion bowler. Tba chief prize, the champion cup, and with it the club prize of a silver fern I bowl was carried off by Mr. Ab. Goldwater, whose skill is only equalled by his enthusiasm. The pairs prize (silver mounted bowls in case) fell to Mess's. Ward and J Avery, the latter of whom we were glad te see complo'ely recovered from his late accident. Mr. W, Moray secured the prize (silver mounted bowls) in the handicap sing'o\ the runnera-up priz« (a setx>f Apostle epoons) in connection with the handicaps being awarded to Mr. W. D. Webster, while the beginners prize (a set of bowla) was secured by Mr. 0. T. Mills. A most sumptuous supper was provided by the ladies, chief of wham was Mrs. Paul, who is to be mo-tt heartily congratulatid in the complete success of this important item in the evening's enjoyment. In every fence the gathering was worthy of the Club and may ba fairly classed as the foci tl of the season.
