GRAND HOTEL FIRE.
TRIAL OF JEB3IOA MINNS. [FIB PUSS ASSOCIATION.! Auckland, July 24. At the Police Court, Jetsica Neumegan Minns, who made such sensitienal statements in connection with the Qrand Hotel fire, was charged with tbe wa. der of Leonora Johnstone and the others who perished in the fire. After he&ingthe evidence of sweral witnesses, the Cc-oner was called for tbe but on Mr. Tole, who apptar<d for the prosecution, intimating his intention ef sending in the de positions of tccused as evidence, Mr. J. 0. Mar!in, for accused, objected on the ground that the statements were not voluntary, but bad been extracted by means of threats. Ultimately, on the suggestion <f the Beach, it was decided that authorities should be p r oduced bearing on the point, and full argument heard tomorrow morning. The Court then adjanroed.
