Tars clover eombina'ion of artists, wlm! appeared at the Theatre Rival on Sunday and lost night?, met with ayeiy hearty reception, goi d audiences being present on each occasion. Las': nigh' tho progi-amine consisted of an excellent selection of music, songs, Maori poi dances and hakm, and throughout rrceived unstinted applause from a delighted a'idience. The firs* item was « spirited repre ent»tiou of the haka of welcome extended to the Duke an' Duchess of Cornwall on their recent visit to Eotorua, and evoked willmerited applause. Amonpat the many 'items given the moit noticeable were so'os by Captain Stirling, "Star of Hope"; Katie Goodwilly (a little mite), "Only a Leaf"; Little Nehu, " Storming Evary Town," and a dm t in Maori by Mrs. Pjuraraati and Lioutanant McCarthy. Captain Stirling I also sang, by special request, " I rfo Love You," fairly bringing down the house. Another excellent i umber was " That's the Way to Jesus," by the lompapy, which received a deserve d •ncore. Soags by the other member* of the troupe, and neatly executed poi dances, haka, and nn action haka representative of the motions gone through in converting timber into articles of use—from the cutting down ef the tree to its manipulation by the carpenter—- ' msde up a programme which must have satisfied the most exacting of the audience.
