Thec.se was adjourned, i Auckland, June 29. The case was continued to-day. Dr. , Janus Dalzinll said he was called on June 6th last to go to accused's hous* ■ Mrs. Bsrgpr was very weak. She to'd witnf s< fhit her husband had beengiv- ; ing h'T medicine which had a peculiai ; effect on htr mouth aud throat, and i C'used other effects on ber syst m. Fiom what she told him witness formed the opinion that she was suffering from an overdfse of aconite. A Jbpttle was produced and taken po?si>ssion of by the police. Witness said to ae-wed, "Your wife has very ill; have you given h»r anything?" Ac- - cused answered, " No." Witnpss then said, " Have you not given her any medicine?" Accused feplird, '■ Oh, yea. There's a bittle on the th If there." The showed accused the bottle, ar>d accused siid, " Yes that is the boU'e." Accused was quite ready to admit giving tho medicin", but he 1 did not w«nt to say coo much about it He had nos been formally accused at the time, b.it be knew ihe constible was there. At this the case was adjourned til! Tuesday.
