With regard to a statement th«t owing to tbe postal holiday many invitations to the Royal reception en Mon •lay »f ternoon were not delivered, the Chief Postmaster at Ohristchuroh 1 explains that there was a delivery on Monday, and of five hundred in vita'.ions posted oa Sunday evening, all but four or five were delivered on Monday morning. Some were addressed to country t esidents who were in town, and ' difficulty was experienced in finding 1 them; but every effort was made, and all the invitations but three were ulti--1 mately delivered.
