The Department of Agriculture his receive! the following cablegram from the Agent-Genera], dated London, 15th:—"Average prices to-dav are: Canterbury mutton, 3Jd, Dunedin 3jd, North Island 3d, Australian 2gd, Kiver Plate 2|-i. Lamb: Canterbury 5fJ, others s£d, Australian 4Jd. Beef: New Zealand hinds 3sd, fores 2Jd. There has been a better demand in the mutton markkt this week. There is better demand for lamb. The lamb market is steady and firm. The hemp market i« steady; New Zealand hemp, good fair Wellington, L 25 10s; fair current Ma- ila, L 33. Cocksfoot, 39a- There are signs of improvement in the cocksfoot seed market." NOLAN, TONES AND CO.'S STOCK REPORT. Hawera, June 14. At the horse fair on the Bth, a fair number were catalogued, and enquiry was good for draughts and light harness horses, the former fetching mp to £25, and the latter £ls to £lB. At Xltham, on 10th instant, we had a good yarding of cattle and a fair sale. At Hawera, on 13th inet., there was a heavy yardirg of cattle, principally bullocks and steers of good quality. The bidding throughout was slack, although tbere were buyers present who required the class, but were cot prepared to accept at vendors reserves. However, sales were made at redaced prices, considerably lets than were ruling a fortnight since.
