ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PBB PKJSSS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, June 17. Walter Pennington, a visitoi from Featheratoo, was run over by a cab yesterday and died in the hospital daring the night. At the inquest on the man who was run over by a cab while lying in a right of way leading to a stable tbe verdic* was " accidental death," no blame being attached to tbe owner of the cab. Hawera, June 17. A serious accident kappeced tbie morning. A horse ridden by a boy named Peter Grant bo'ted, acd Mr T. T. Miller, manager of tbe Bank of Aus traWa, stopped the runaway, but batk himself and the boy sustained bid ii. juries. The bey was hurt about thr head, but at present it is not thought dangerously. Mr. Miller had h<s pelvis splintered and his shoulder hurt, and sustained severe scalp wounds. It if sot yet known whether he has bees injured internally. Feildihg, June 17. The four-year-old son of a settler named Crosby, on the Awahuri Read, was seriously burnt this morning by his clothes catching fire during tbe temporaly absence of his parents fiom the room. Be is not expected to recover. Auckland, Junel7. Marquis Williamson, aged 19, son ef Isaac Williamson, Te Kumi, Awanui, fell overheard from a river punt and was drowned. Gisboekk, June 17. In regard to the death of William Marr, choir-master of Holy Trinity Church, he gently fell bade in the corner of tbe seat, the sermon proceeding fcr several minutes before Canon Webb realised what had happened, A singular fact is that the list words Marr gave vo'ce to was in singing the hymn " How Sweet the N*me of Jesus," which concludes " May the music of Thy name refresh my 6oul in death."
